Admission Procedures & Guidelines
1. Admission Policy
Berachah Institute of Higher Education & Research (BIHER) follows a fair, transparent, and merit-based admission policy that integrates academic eligibility, spiritual maturity, and ministerial commitment. Admissions are granted without discrimination on the basis of denomination, region, or culture, while upholding the Christian faith and values of the institution. The admission process is designed to ensure that candidates are academically prepared, spiritually committed, and personally suitable for theological education and ministry formation.
2. Eligibility Criteria
Admission eligibility varies according to the level of study and program requirements. Candidates must meet the minimum academic qualifications as well as spiritual and ministerial expectations.
Program-wise Eligibility:
- Certificate / Diploma Programs: Completion of Class 10 or equivalent
- Bachelor of Theology (B.Th.): Completion of Class 12 (+2) or equivalent
- Master of Divinity (M.Div.) – Three-Year Program: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution
- Master of Divinity (M.Div.) – Two-Year Program: B.Th. from an ATA-accredited institution with a minimum B+ grade
- Master of Theology (M.Th.): M.Div. or equivalent theological degree
- Doctoral Programs: M.Th. or M.Phil. for research doctorates; M.Div. for professional doctorates
All academic qualifications must be supported by valid certificates and transcripts.
3. Application Process
The application process at BIHER is conducted in a systematic and structured manner through the institutional platform.
Steps for Application:
- Submission of online application through https://biher.education
- Uploading of academic certificates and mark sheets
- Submission of personal testimony and statement of call
- Uploading of church recommendation letter
- Submission of government-recognized identity proof (Aadhaar card preferred)
- Payment of prescribed application fee (if applicable)
- Incomplete applications will not be considered for admission.
4. Entrance Examination
All eligible applicants are required to appear for an entrance examination conducted by the Academic Dean or an appointed committee. The examination assesses the candidate’s preparedness for theological study and includes:
- Basic biblical knowledge
- General awareness and comprehension
- Language proficiency (English or prescribed medium)
The entrance examination ensures academic readiness and foundational understanding necessary for the chosen program.
5. Personal Interview
Shortlisted candidates are invited for a personal interview conducted by the Admission Committee. The interview evaluates:
- Christian commitment and spiritual maturity
- Clarity of calling and ministry motivation
- Academic ability and learning readiness
- Emotional stability and interpersonal skills
The interview may be conducted in person or online, depending on the mode of study.
6. Selection and Admission Approval
Admission decisions are made by the Admission Committee based on the applicant’s academic records, entrance examination performance, interview assessment, and submitted documents. Selected candidates are formally approved, and admission records are entered and maintained by the Registrar. Admission confirmation is communicated through official institutional channels.
7. Document Verification and Record Maintenance
Before final admission, all original documents are verified for authenticity. BIHER maintains both physical and digital records of student admissions, including academic credentials, identity documents, and recommendation letters. These records are securely stored and made available during accreditation and evaluation processes.
8. Orientation and Enrollment
Admitted students are required to participate in an orientation program conducted through the LMS or campus sessions. Orientation includes:
- Introduction to BIHER academic policies
- LMS navigation and usage training
- Academic expectations and assessment structure
- Code of conduct and institutional guidelines
Successful completion of orientation confirms official enrolment.
9. General Admission Guidelines
- Admission is granted subject to fulfillment of all eligibility criteria
- Submission of false information may result in cancellation of admission
- Admission may be withdrawn for disciplinary or academic misconduct
- Students must adhere to BIHER’s academic integrity and code of conduct
- BIHER reserves the right to amend admission policies when necessary
10. Special Considerations
BIHER may consider special cases such as mature candidates, ministry practitioners, or international applicants based on academic merit and ministry experience. Such admissions are subject to Academic Council approval and may include additional assessments.
